Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and Russian President Vladimir Putin have held direct talks on the crisis in eastern Ukraine at a summit in Minsk, Belarus. Speaking to reporters, Poroshenko said all sides “without exception” backed Kyiv’s peace proposals for ending the fighting.
