Ukraine needs to negotiate with Russia to resolve the conflict in the eastern regions only with the U.S. and the EU.
Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatseniuk said at the 11th Annual Meeting of the Yalta European Strategy YES, a Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“It is too early to say that we agree on something clearly (in Minsk – Ed.). Only the first step was taken in order to pave the way for a future peaceful solution. Frankly, an idea to hold bilateral talks and reach bilateral agreements with Russia – is not the best idea. I support the so-called Geneva format with the United States, the EU, Ukraine and Russia. We are not strong enough to negotiate on a bilateral basis. The Russians will replay us, they want it. Putin wants to have another frozen conflict to keep his hands firmly on Ukraine,” the Prime Minister said.
