Bailiffs Impound Crimean Tatar Assembly

Officials of Russia’s Federal Bailiffs Service took over the building of the Crimea Tatars’ self-governing body, the Mejlis, in the city of Simferopol on September 18. Some 15 bailiffs arrived at the Mejlis and requested that everyone leave in accordance with a court ruling impounding all property and bank accounts of the Qirim (Crimea) Foundation — including the Mejlis building.
