Speaking to reporters after almost 16 hours of talks, Putin said: ‘We have managed to agree on the main issues.’
The ceasefire would come into effect on Feb 15.
The announcement came after marathon talks in Minsk involving Mr Putin, German chancellor Angela Merkel, French president Francois Hollande and Ukrainian president Petro Poroshenko.
