The first trucks from Moscow’s controversial aid convoy to rebel-held parts of Ukraine have begun returning to Russia, monitors from the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe say.Paul Picard, the acting head of the mission observing the Russian border post known as Donetsk, said some of the vehicles had begun passing through but could not provide a number.It came as US president Barack Obama and German chancellor Angela Merkel warned that Russia was triggering a “dangerous escalation” of the conflict in Ukraine. …read more
