German Chancellor Angela Merkel has been named the ‘Person of the Year’ by Times magazine. Merkel who was awarded the title for her resilience and leadership when faced with the Syrian refugee crisis and turmoil in the European Union over its currency this year. She is also the first woman to hold the title in almost 29 years.
