Episodic Memory (2007) is one of those books which seem to be written in hologrammatic ink. As you turn the pages you see butterflies drifting over the Steppe or hear a dog barking in a summer that faded fifty years ago. The novel begins with a description of debris and a breaking mirror in a Ukrainian farmyard.
