Brussels, Mar 13 (AFP) The European Union today prolonged by another six months sanctions against Russian and Ukrainian individuals over their role in the Ukraine crisis.
The asset freezes and travel bans were first introduced in early 2014 as the crisis deepened into outright war between pro-Russian rebels and government forces in eastern Ukraine.
The European Council, representing the 28 member states, said it “prolonged the restrictive measures over actions undermining or threatening the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine for a further six months until 15 September.”
