NATO to Increase Cyber Weapon Usage to Combat ‘Resurgent’ Russia


Brussels, Nov 9: Members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) agreed to increase the use of cyber weaponry and tactics during military operations in a bid to combat a resurgent Russia. Reports claim the alliance has also agreed to upgrade other capabilities with the same motive as following Russia’s annexation of Crimea in 2014, the threat to the alliance’s eastern flank has grown.
The defence ministers are also in support of creating two new command centres to help protect Europe. Reportedly, these changes are part of the alliance’s biggest revamp since the Cold War.
