The European Union is set to extend its anti-Russia sanctions for three more months.
A Wall Street Journal report says the sanctions, which target almost 200 officials and firms from Russia and self-proclaimed regions in eastern Ukraine, will be extended until March 15.
They were supposed to expire in mid-September. Several rounds of anti-Russia sanctions were introduced by the West over the unrest in Ukraine. Relations between Moscow and the West further soured after some regions in eastern Ukraine declared autonomy.
Kiev and its Western allies accuse the Kremlin of meddling in Ukraine’s internal affairs. Moscow denies any involvement.
