The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) has rejected the possibility of entering an “arms race” with Russia, amid the recent escalation of tensions between the military alliance and Moscow.
NATO’s Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg made the comments in a press conference on Wednesday as NATO defense ministers have assembled in Brussels for a meeting where they are expected to increase the size of the alliance’s rapid response force.
NATO’s response is “defensive, proportionate and in line with all our international obligations,” the NATO chief said.
