Iran, eager to resume trade relations with the world after the illegal US and EU sanctions lifted earlier this year, has initiated talks on economic corporation with Sri Lanka with the visit of Energy Minister Hamid Chitchian to Colombo. According to Colombo Page, in its first bilateral discussions with Sri Lanka, held yesterday in Colombo, Iran has called for unprecedented level of engagement with Sri Lanka in multiple spheres-and stressed that business sectors of both sides shall lead the way.
