Russian President Vladimir Putin says the West’s attempts to split the Russian society with economic sanctions have failed.
According to Press TV, Putin said during a Friday meeting of the Russian Security Council “Today it’s clear that attempts to split our society, to play on some difficulties, to find a weakness didn’t lead to an expected result.”
He stated “The reasons for pressuring Russia are clear: We are conducting independent domestic and foreign policy. We aren’t trading in our sovereignty and some don’t like it,” adding that Russia should respond to sanctions with “systemic measures in all key areas.”
