Russia facilitates the process of receiving Russian citizenship for the citizens of Ukraine and other post-Soviet states. Numbers indicate that these efforts helped achieve the goal. In January-April 2019 the number of immigrants in Russia has hit a record high in the past ten years, Economy Timesinformed. The number of immigrants from Armenia and Ukraine is especially high. In January-April 2019, 12,800 people left Armenia for Russia. in 2018, this number was 4900. As of 1 January 2019, there were 49,000 Armenian citizens in Russia.
