Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that Macedonia and Greece might be alternatives for Bulgaria, in the project to provide a new gas pipeline link to central Europe. Speaking in his hours-long press conference on Thursday, the President of the Russian Federation spoke about the decision to cancel the project that was supposed to bring Russian gas beneath the Black Sea to Bulgaria, bypassing the Ukraine, and then distribute it to Austria through Serbia and Hungary.
