The ruling United Russia party is on track to win 343 of 450 seats in Russia’s lower house of parliament, the Central Election Commission said Monday.
The Commission made its prediction with more than 93 percent of ballots counted, Ella Pamfilova, the head of the commission, told a news briefing.
While the allies of Russian President Vladimir Putin comfortably won the election, low turnout suggested a softening of enthusiasm for the ruling elite 18 months before the next presidential election.
