The Kremlin dampened expectations Wednesday that the talks with the leaders of France, Germany and Ukraine could help to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, according to report by the AFP.
“We do not expect any breakthroughs,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters hours before President Vladimir Putin was scheduled to meet German Chancellor Angela Merkel, French President François Hollande and Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko.
“Ideally the best result would be Ukraine’s obligation to fulfil the Minsk agreements in the way that was determined in the document signed by the heads of state concerned. But ideal objectives do not always correspond to reality.”
