The Bulgarians residing in the Crimea decided to create a regional national and cultural autonomy, announced that Bulgarian cultural center Izvor. The statute of “National cultural autonomy” was inaugurated in Russia in 1996. It gives national minorities the possibility to display their own culture, language and national education. Local Bulgarian national and cultural autonomies exist in Simferopol and Yalta. They will become the basis for creating a regional structure, which would with time imbibe also other organizations of Bulgarians working in many towns and regions of the peninsula, the Izvor center informs. …read more
