May 24 is one of Bulgaria’s brightest holidays. The Bulgarian nation glorifies the great deed of Holy Brothers Cyril and Methodius who created the Slavonic script. In 1980 Pope John Paul ІІ proclaims Cyril and Methodius spiritual co-patrons of Europe. May 24 is the Day of the Slavonic script and the Bulgarian education and culture.
