The Ministry of Defense is the venue of a ceremony for opening the NATO Force Integration Unit – NFIUs in Bulgaria. The decision for creating such a unit was made in September 2014 at the Wales Summit of the Alliance. In order to enhance its defense in the context of Russia’s actions in Ukraine, NATO activates simultaneously similar structures also in Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Poland and Romania.
