In 2017 the Republic of Bulgaria granted Bulgarian citizenship to 914 people, data of Eurostat show. 185 Ukrainian nationals (22% of all issued passports), 174 Russians (19%) and 110 Turkish citizens (12%) acquired Bulgarian citizenship. The number of passports issued in 2017 decreased with 44% as compared to the previous year. In 2017 all 28 EU member states granted citizenship to 825,000 foreign nationals. Moroccans, Albanians.
