Fourteen years after the sinking of the Bulgarian ship Hera, the Sofia Prosecutor’s Office has brought charges against two persons – Milen Balchev, Director of Providence Shipping & Trading OOD, and Stefcho Minchev, Technical Director of the company. The two are facing charges for the damage and sinking of the motor ship which resulted in the death of Bulgarian and foreign nationals. The cause for the ship’s sinking, according to the conclusion of numerous expert reports, was that the strength of the ship’s structure had deteriorated as a result
