Russia is to cut the supplies of natural gas to Ukraine on Tuesday or Wednesday, because that country failed to pay a deposit, Russia’s Energy Minister Alexander Novak announced. In relation to that announcement, the Chief Executive Director of Bulgarian Bulgartransgaz Georgi Gegov said he was assured by Minister Alexander Novak that the gas crisis in Ukraine would not affect the supplies to Bulgaria. Mr Gegov pointed out that even if gas supplies are suspended for some reason, the gas storage facility in Chiren has enough quantities of gas to satisfy Bulgaria’s needs. …read more
