Protesters Attempt To Block Pop Singer’s Concert In Odesa

Dozens of protesters attempted to block a concert by Ukrainian singer Karolina Kuyek, popularly known as Ani Lorak, in the southern city of Odesa on August 3. Activists from the nationalist Svoboda party and the right-wing Right Sector gathered outside the venue before the start of the show, chanting “Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the heroes!” as they protesters the singer’s “anti-Ukrainian behavior.” Minor clashes outside the club were broken up by police, with several people arrested. (Reuters) …read more
