Russian security forces raided the Crimean Tatar assembly, the Mejlis, in Simferopol on September 16. RFE/RL’s correspondent reported that 10 police officers and six armed, masked men in military uniforms had surrounded the Mejlis and were not letting anyone enter or leave the building.
