Savchenko Calls For ‘Fair And Transparent’ Elections In Ukraine

Ukrainian military aviator Nadia Savchenko has called for “fair and transparent” elections in Ukraine. Speaking to Oleksandr Lashchenko, host of RFE/RL’s Ukrainian Service program Saturday Interview, Savchenko said conditions for holding a free and democratic vote in her country did not yet exist. Savchenko spent nearly two years in Russian captivity before being released in May and returning to a hero’s welcome in Ukraine.
