Ukraine’s volatile east in the wake of another round of failed peace negotiations between pro-Russia militias and Kiev.
Ukrainian officials say two soldiers and three civilians were killed in fierce clashes with pro-Russians over the past 24 hours. Meanwhile, a pro-Russia commander spoke of five civilian deaths over the same period. Last week, three-day European-mediated peace talks ended with no breakthrough. International monitors have also been reporting numerous violations in terms of a February ceasefire deal by both sides of the conflict.
