German Chancellor Angela Merkel received a traditional Maori welcome in New Zealand on Friday (November 14) before she’s set to go to Australia to attend the G20 summit. While visiting Auckland, Merkel was also given the opportunity to first pet and then release a Kiwi into the wild.
