Russian President Vladimir Putin left the Group of 20 summit in Australia early so he can sleep on the long flight home, after a week of international meetings where he faced pressure over Ukraine.
Putin, who was told by European leaders during the two-day summit in Brisbane to stop arming rebels in Ukraine, said before jetting off that he’d explained his early departure to host, Prime Minister Tony Abbott, who was understanding.
