BRUSSELS: EU ambassadors agreed to roll over damaging economic sanctions against Russia for another six months in the absence of any progress on resolving the Ukraine conflict, European sources said Tuesday.
The sources told Agence France-Presse that envoys from the 28 member states of the European Union approved the decision in principle, which will now go to ministers for formal approval, possibly on Friday.
The sanctions were due to expire at the end of July and will now run to January 2017, they said.
