As the Russian aircraft carrier Admiral Kuznetsov enters into dry dock for overhaul, Moscow’s naval aviators could find themselves training onboard the Chinese carrier Liaoning.
According to Chinese media reports—and noted by Russian defense experts—the two sides are currently in negotiations to allow Russian naval aviators to train onboard Liaoning, which was originally built as the Kuznetsov-class Varyag before being sold incomplete to China by Ukraine.
