A federal judge ruled Tuesday against the motion by lawyers for Paul Manafort to dismiss the charges in special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian election interference.
Here’s why the judge ruled against Manafort
The former campaign manager for President Trump is being charged in Washington D.C. with failing to register as a lobbyist while working in Ukraine. His lawyers filed for a dismissal on the basis that the charges extended beyond the scope of Mueller’s appointment.
