Sen. Ron Johnson on Thursday accused his Democratic counterpart of trying to “undermine” efforts to subpoena a former Department of State official linked to dossier author Christopher Steele.
Johnson, the chairman of the Senate Homeland Security Committee, said on Twitter that ranking Democrat Sen. Gary Peters was using “absurd process arguments to delay or derail” a subpoena for former State Department official Jonathan Winer.
In a tweet, the Wisconsin Republican linked to a Daily Caller News Foundation report that Winer destroyed reports he received from Steele in January 2017.
