Defence Minister Harjit Sajjan’s visit to his native India this week has been controversial, at least in the Indian news media.
Amarinder Singh, the top elected official in India’s Punjab province, accused Sajjan of being a Sikh nationalist. “I’m not going to meet him,” Singh told Indian TV before adding that there are other Sikh nationalists in the Trudeau cabinet.
“There are five ministers who are Khalistanis and I am not interested in meeting any Khalistanis,” Singh said on TV.
