In a flurry of court documents filed late Friday, federal prosecutors sought a “substantial prison term” for Michael Cohen, and the special council’s office asked that any time served by Cohen for lying to Congress “be served concurrently” with his prison term in the Southern District of New York case.
The special counsel’s office documents also made public new info, including that in November 2015 Cohen spoke with a Russian national who offered Trump’s campaign “political synergy” with Russia, and repeatedly proposed setting up a meeting between Trump and Putin.
