Lithuania is to supply Ukraine with military aid, the two countries’ Presidents, Dailia Grybauskaite and Petro Poroshenko announced on Monday.
During a joint press conference following a Kiev meeting of the two heads of state Poroshenko stated that the two countries have agreed on the supply of concrete elements of armament, without specifying the exact weapons in question.
The possibility of training Ukrainian military personnel in Lithuania was also discussed.
According to Poroshenko the decision on Ukranian membership to NATO should be taken at a country-wide referendum.
The German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier declared himself yesterday against Ukraine’s membership to NATO.
