KIEV, Ukraine – It was one year ago that Kiev erupted in bloody clashes that killed dozens of protesters, and eventually led to the downfall of Viktor Yanukovych, the former Ukrainian president who fled the capital under the cover of night, slipping across the Russian border.Fuzzy black-and-white security camera footage from the ex-leader’s lavish Mezhyhirya compound showed Yanukovych packing his bags and expensive works of art into several black SUVs and helicopters, before one of them airlifted him away.
