WARSAW, Poland (AP) — Poland’s foreign minister says European nations are discussing how to counter the Russian propaganda they say is seeping into Europe through Kremlin-backed media.
Observers say Russia’s foreign-language broadcasters like Russia Today television or online media are disseminating Kremlin’s views in order to win backing for its actions in Ukraine.
Polish Foreign Minister Grzegorz Schetyna said Friday this is “Russian propaganda financed directly from the Russian state budget, and there is this question: how can Europe defend itself?”
He said EU nations are talking about a Russian-language television that would broadcast into Russia.
