The Fed begins its two-day meeting. On Tuesday, the Federal Open Market Committee begins its two-day policy meeting. In addition to expecting the Fed to raise its benchmark interest rate for the first time since June 2006, market participants will be on the lookout for clues as to the pace of the rate-hike cycle. The market is pricing in a 78% probability of a 25-basis-point increase at Wednesday’s meeting and a 33.6% chance of an additional 25-basis-point hike in March.
