Kiev (AFP) – At least 24 people have died in renewed fighting in east Ukraine, where Kiev has accused pro-Russian separatists of launching a major new offensive, according to estimates from the warring sides.According to the rebels, 14 rebels and five civilians have died over the past 24 hours, while Kiev authorities said five soldiers had been killed in the fighting.Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov says a fragile peace deal faces a “constant threat” of breaking down because of Kiev’s actions, as fighting surges in the ex-Soviet state.Join the conversation about this story »
