In late 2018, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced an ambitious plan: to create an independent oversight board.
The board can overrule Facebook’s content moderation guidelines, and can even overrule Zuckerberg.
Last week, the group made its first rulings on disputed content. It overturned 4 out of the 5 cases it saw.
The board consists of 20 people, including a former prime minister, a Nobel laureate, and human rights experts.
