Former Ukraine finance minister Yuri Kolobov has been arrested in Spain on suspicion of misappropriating millions of dollars while he was in office. Interpol issued an arrest warrant for Kolobov in January along with warrants for former Ukrainian prime minister Mykola Azarov and former president Victor Yanukovych, who fled the country last year following months of protests in central Kiev. The charges were filed at the request of Ukrainian authorities with the charges cited against Kolobov listed as “misappropriation, embezzlement or conversion of property by malversation”.
