As tensions have continued to increase throughout eastern Europe and the Baltic States, famously neutral Finland is being forced to reconsider its decision to remain outside of the NATO alliance. Finland, which stayed neutral throughout the Cold War, shares an 800-mile-long border with Russia, and has an often-difficult history with its neighbor. “We have a long history with Russia — not that peaceful all the time.
