As reported in the news, a joint-declaration calling for strong defense of family and life was signed on February 12 by Pope Francis and Metropolitan Kirill, head of the Orthodox Church of Moscow and all Russia. The signing occurred following their historic meeting at Havana Airport in Cuba, where the two expressed “grave concerns” over the ever increasing infringement against religious liberty throughout the world, lamenting especially the persecution of Christians that is rampant now throughout Africa, the Middle-East, the Ukraine, and many other places.
