Calls grew Sunday for the NATO military alliance to defend France in the wake of the Paris terror attacks, raising the prospect of a more robust military campaign — possibly including the use of ground troops — to take on the Islamic State in Iraq, Syria and other countries where the militant group has extended its reach.
