Britain’s Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson will travel to Moscow in the coming weeks for talks with his counterpart Sergey Lavrov, making him the first U.K. minister to visit the Russian capital in more than five years.
Britain’s foreign ministry said Johnson’s visit should not be seen as a resetting of the relationship between the U.K. and Russia as the two countries continue to disagree over issues including Russia’s military involvement in Ukraine and Syria. Johnson and Lavrov will focus on both topics as part of their discussions.
