Five Chechens accused of assassinating Russian opposition politician Boris Nemtsov went on trial Monday, appearing in front of a military court in Moscow, the BBC reported.
The men have all denied the charges and a lawyer for the Nemtsov family has slammed the government investigation as lacking in evidence. They fear that whoever was behind the killing will never be found.
In February 2015, Nemtsov was shot in the back by an unknown assailant as he crossed a bridge near the Kremlin.
