The European Council President Donald Tusk said on Wednesday that the Russian version of events in Crimea and Donbas was “unreliable” and his assessment of the situation aligned with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko’s.
Tusk made the statement on Twitter after speaking with Poroshenko on the phone.
The comments are likely a reference to claims made by Russian President Vladimir Putin earlier this month that Russia’s Federal Security Service had prevented a Ukrainian terror attack and that he “obviously will not let such things slide by.”
At the time, Poroshenko called the Russian charges “fantasies.”
