The European Union has offered Ukraine €1.8 billion in financial support to help the war-torn country through its economic crisis as it embarks on a year of reforms. This is the EU’s third offer to bail out Ukraine in the past two years.
The new loan, which the EU says should be used between now and early 2016, needs the approval of the EU’s member states and of the European Parliament.
