France wants to hold a summit next week on the conflict in Ukraine with the leaders of Germany, Russia and Ukraine, the French government’s chief spokesman said Wednesday.
Stephane Le Foll told reporters following a meeting of ministers in Paris that President François Hollande would get in touch with Russia’s Vladimir Putin and Germany’s Angela Merkel on Wednesday and with Ukrainian Prime Minister Petro Poroshenko on Thursday “to try to make progress on a political solution and a negotiated one” on the Ukrainian conflict, which has led to the deaths of more than 9,600 people.
